Mid-Autumn Moon Festival BBQ Party (See Pictures)

The Taiwanese Association of Madison(TAM), Student Association of the Republic of China(SAROC), and the Taiwanese Student Association (TSA) will be co-hosting a Mid-Autumn Moon festival BBQ party on Sat. 10/7/2006 for lunch (10am to 3pm) at the Elver park new shelter.

  • Date: Oct. 7th, Saturday
  • Location: Elvert Park ( Map Link: http://0rz.net/901Tb )
  • Time: Starting @ 11:00 AM

There will be Moon pies, BBQ, lots of people to meet and various activities! Take the time off and enjoy the sunshine with friends, also a great chance to meet new people!
We truly hope this to be a great and incredible outdoor experience for everyone!

The activity schedule looks like the following:

10:00-11:00 Setup and get grills up ready for BBQ. (Will need some muscle and BBQ experts, volunteers are encouraged to contact me or just show up around 10am)
11:00-12:00 Social gathering. Check-in and get a name tag, get acquainted with new faces or old friends. Will run slide show of May, 2006 Taipei Folk Dance Troupe from the Performance event /Taiwanese Heritage Celebration.
12:00-13:00 Lunch time. Please prepare one or two dishes to share and please prepare them in a generous portion. As we will have a lot of UW students (both under and graduates), quite a few will be first year students. We have encouraged them to bring a dish to share but thought our TAM members have a lot of gourmet cooks and this is a great opportunity to show the students that Madison has a strong and active Taiwanese community. TAM will prepare stir-fried noodle and rice, fruits, soft drinks, utensils and BBQs.
13:00-14:00 We are so honored that Dr. Hsu will be giving a talk to our participants and his topic is "Away from Aging and Diseases". At the same time, for families with young children, we will have a craft station ready to keep them busy during the talk. Also, sports activities around the shelter will also be available.
14:00-15:00 SAROC and TSA will have several musical performances. Will likely include keyboards, guitar and singing (Karaoke). We can look forward to the young generation's talent performance.
15:00-whenever We can still enjoy the part but may have to vacant the shelter.

Now, as the rough estimates that this gathering will have more than 150 people. Volunteers and donations are more than welcome to help out this party. We will need people to help out setting up the event between 10-11am, clean up after the event between 15:00-16:00, and also help out BBQing probably between 10:30 to 12:30. Donations will be helpful too as TAM are covering the costs for this events.

Please come Here to see our pictures during the party.
